As a kid watching Jeopardy I always assumed that going into negative dollars meant you had to come up with that amount of money before you could leave the studio after the show, like poker.
I still wish it were that way. These days even the losers get a consolation prize from one of the show’s sponsors. Where’s the jeopardy in that?
